Who has ran cracked heads?

Long story short, im top-swapping, I've brought 5 sets of heads to the machine shop to get checked out and have a valve job done (great deal, family friend) Each and every one of them were cracked between the valve seats, and the most recent set I bought from a local member were just incredibly f'd up...Now I'm at the point that it would have been cheaper to just get ZZP's reconditioned heads for $250. I've read that many people run anyways when the cracks are small, but I have worries with the slightly higher compression.
Pros to running the cracked ones: I can use the $250 that I would be spending on ZZP's heads towards 1.9's instead; and maybe I'll be lucky and not have a problem
Cons: I'll end up having problems after getting it back together and have to start all over again.

FWIW the machinist said that the cracks on one set were extremely small, but still there.
I'd like to hear from people who have actually ran cracked heads, or know someone who has. Hopefully then I can make a decision on what to do.

Half the people on here are probably running cracked heads. It's pretty common on these cars for them to crack between the valve seats. It is repairable at the right shop if you have someone weld it

X2^^ if not mote than half of the people here are running cracked heads. All 4 sets of heads I have (97-03/GTP) are cracked.

I heard rehab can sometimes fix crack heads...

SAY WHA???!!

Have the shop weld them up and they should be good to go.

One of the heads on my car that was checked had been cracked for a long time w/o me knowing. Lots are cracked..but good ones do exist.
