so the gp i bought last night threw a CEL today.. i get home and im sitting in teh driveway @idle for 5 minutes or so.. i look in my mirror and see white smoke pouring out of the exhaust. i shut it down and let it sit for a minute. cranked the car back up and i have some pretty serious top end noise.. still dont know the code yet... but the car is under warranty and getting fixed for free.. kinda sounds like a bent valve maybe. oil doesnt look contaminated at all. however i popped my oil cap off and took a whiff and it smells strongly like gas. my first thought is o2 took a serious **** and filled cylinders up with gas. what do u guys think.
 


hmmm... oil or smoke dont smell like coolant.. stuck my nose in oil filler cap and it smells strongly of gas.
 
Almost sounds like an injector got hung open and just kept filling a cylinder with fuel. Not sure this is common on the GP's, but I've seen other makes have this issue when the ECU takes a dump.

Top end noise could just be the fuel washing everything down since you said you can smell it in the oil. Def. need 2 oil changes and then see what you get. Hopefully the damage was minimal.
 


i would have never known from driving it, but the cat was clogged. i guess sitting at idle for as long as i did with no air movement under the car to cool it off.. it started burning **** in the cat? thats the only explanation for the smoke that can i figure out.. intake gasket is fine.
