whistling noise by serpentine belt

i have a 1997 grand prix 3.1 engine. i have recently noitced a scratching/whistling noise coming from the area around the serpentine belt.

i was wondering if anyone know what it could be???

i was told by a friend of mine that it could probably be the water pump. could that be??

i also had a friend that had a similar noise on his cavalier and he replaced the torshiner bar. could that be the reason possibly?

or could it just be dirt/rock in one of those pulleys??

is anyone has a solution for it would be greatly appreciated thanks!:)
 


Take the belt off and spin each pulley. The one that makes noise needs to be replaced and throw a new belt on it.
