• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

This Past Weekend My 98 GTP Tranny Was Whining And Threw Code p0742 The Code Came After A Trip In The Rain My Car Kept Trying To Hydroplane On The Pass Side As In The Wheel Keep Spinning Faster Than The Driver Wheel. My Fluid Needed To Be Changed Before The Trip But Went Anyways. I Changed The Converter And Fluid And It Stopped Whining And When I Dropped The PAn No Debris In The Pan.Do Anybody Think I Need To Change My Hole Tranny Or Its Good Like It Is

That code is typically caused because of excess debris in the valve body and TCC solenoid. Just replacing the converter may have temporarily cured an issue but they generally dont go bad unless there is a cause, and that cause is inside the transmission and should be addressed. Some people just replace the solenoid and it works fine for a while but there is more to the problem than a dirty solenoid.

And My Fluid Was Really Dark Do You Think That Could Cause That Prob As Well
And There Was No Shaving In The Tranny At All
