While my trans is out is there anything I should do? Maintenance wise or performance wise that would be easy to do while its out?

Need the biggest chain setup you can afford 1" if you can find one and hardened input and output shafts at least. Having it done by TEP is absolutely the best place to have it done I doubt you'll regret anything once that trans is back in the car! Looking forward to hearing how it goes with the nitrous!
 
Dave said 7/8 should be fine, I have had nitrous for a long time. Trans finally went on it though. It had 13k on the rebuild and its out of warranty from the shop that did it
