Which motor and trans mounts do I go with?

So I looked at my trans mount today and it looks pretty dry rotted and cracked so I'm wanting to replace it now the question, are poly mounts really any better than OEM ones and I'm planning on lowering with in the next few months but don't have the $ for the spring and everything right now would it be OK to install the spacers on the mounts with the stock springs?

i got some from rock auto, they were the mid priced ones. filled with fluid. zero shaking at idle also.

I used these.....

3.5 years later, all is good.

I would get solid rubber replacement lower mounts.

Poly upper squares/bushings.

If you want literally NO movement, then go with poly lowers.

I had them, and they'll shake your teeth loose...but worth it from the performance aspect of things.

High octane my trans mount doesn't look like that it looks more like the motor mount are they the same?

So now that I know the Mount stuff does anyone know if installing the mount spacers for lowering would be bad without the springs in yet. If there's no bad effects I'd probably change the mount and install the spacers in a few days and then about two weeks after that when I get paid install canuck motorsports lowering springs

the spacers are to keep your axles level. so if installed now the geometry would be off till its lowered. id just do the mounts and spacers when you do the springs. they dont take much time to swap out really.

There really isn't a "GTP" tranny mount but anyways why the hell would you switch to that crappy mount?

when that one goes bad you'll see why i changed it to the other style. theres nothing so great about it. and if you search for a regal trans mount at any parts store web site, that mount comes up.

Just get a solid rubber, non-fluid filled one.

It doesn't really matter. You're over thinking it. It's a mount.

Unless you go poly, they all really still flex. There is no "performance" gain, other than no movement under load along with better power transfer when you stab into it.

I went all polys and I don't think the vibrations are that bad. Guess it all comes down to individual opinion. my motor doesn't move AT ALL now though :D
