Which HID projectors do I chose?

Im looking for HID projectors for my 97, specifically black/smoked (non bling). There seems to be many brands but only two styles. The two styles I've found are;

http://m.ebay.com/itm/301064765514?cmd=VIDESC

These look to be better quality, but I don't care for the led and reflective "halos" and amber runing lamp

http://m.ebay.com/itm/380861252091?cmd=VIDESC

These don't seem to be as nice as the ones above, both in quality and projector placement. Although they look cleaner, no reflective halos, leds or amber marker/runing lights.

What's your guys/girls thoughts, which would you chose and why? Pics are always helpful, extra points if the car is red :) lol.

If I had to chose one go with the bottom spyder ones. But I wont recommend any aftermarket projectors because they are junk with bad output and headlight bounce unless you add weather stripping under them.. Unless you retrofit projectors.
Check this thread for what I mean by junk http://www.grandprixforums.net/showthread.php?t=87530

It looks like the 97-03 aren't AS bad but still junk :/. That sucks... After seeing pics of the dash Z's they're a definite negative. Did you intentionally link to the HQ Bi-Xenon HID FX-R 2.5" Retrofit Projectors or was that just an auto link from amazon? I read LS1GTP's wrightup on retro fitting motomini H1's onto the stock headlights. Idk if I like the look of a single projector, but I do like the fact that it retains oem quality, bright as hell, really clean, and totally custom. Has anyone had good luck retro fitting spyder/sonas?

I dont think anyone has but you can do it on the spyders no idea what work is involved tho. I didn't link them in this thread otherone maybe.

I think it was Google auto linking... How are the LED tails? Im loling at your Sig, haha! Yeah Im a lil slow...

LED tail are good replacement for leaking/cracked OEM ones. Makes the car look more modern. I need to invest in a set. I poured a cup of water out of my tail light before I broke it more so it would drain.

That's good to hear. I was gonna tint the red ones. Mine surprisingly don't collect water but they do fog

Instead of wasting your money on junk, check out Classy Pontiac's thread in the For Sale section. Look at the pictures... I havnt heard a single negative thing about his work, and Im expecting mine soon.

They're about double what the ebay ones cost... but that's because real projectors cost that much... junky ones are gunna be cheap, ofcourse. I'd definitely rather spend 20 bucks on something awesome and quality, versus 10 or even 5 dollars on garbage.

Check out www.theretrofitsource.com if you want to learn more and maybe do it yourself.

This is what they look like on Matts car, you could always just add more tint with VHT.

take this with a grain a grain of salt, but i have some ebay projectors they look like spyders but the name is something else i cant remember, I really like

them, they dont bounce as bad as the stock headlights not that its a big deal anyways, and they seem bright to me ive never drove a car with expensive

projectors so i dont know how to judge the quality, all i can say is its alot better than stock and they look amazing, Make sure you ajdust them before you

try to force them in, my adjuster bolts are almost bottomed out so it might need alot of adjustment. Ive had mine installed for about 2 months now so like

i said take this with a grain of salt becuase i dont really know how they are going to hold up

I had the spyders when they first came out and used them for a year. I got tired of all the bouncing even with all of the bounce fixes I did. The light output was ok but nothing overwhelming. The beams crossed. I am now back to stock headlights. I would recommend you invest your money into some retros.

I've yet to see a pic of classy's 97-03 style. I gotta say I don't care for the 04+. However Im a DIYer anyway so I think I'll do the H1's

I think there's a lot of rebranding out there. I think Sona(or somethin like that) and spyder are the originals. I doubt there's more then on manufacture making them other then Dash Z.
