Where to spray my water/meth?

Ok I know I'm going to take a bunch of heat for even bringing up water/meth injection, and I'm going to say that I don't care what your opinion is on it, I'm a fan, I've seen it used on crazy setups, twin charged vehicles, triple turbo diesels, and other things very successfully, and I am using it no matter what anyone says, and I am also going to run a full size intercooler once PayPal verifys my bank account haha, and my only question is where I should spray, my 3 main options are, direct port, in my intake runners, which I am not going to do. Too much work. Which that leaves in my intake tubing, I have a k&n Cai, (before you judge it was 175 at a local speed shop black Friday a couple years ago haha), so mounting there would be easy. But my other though is to mount the jet into my egr block off plate, which would also conveniently going to be post ic core also. Or I could also get a second Nozzle and spray both pre throttle body, and post ic into the egr blockoff plate. Pre blower water/meth is supposed to help supercharger efficiency, cools rotors and the housing and supposedly helps the rotors seal a bit better also, but I am concerned it will take away from the IC efficiency because the core works better more efficiently with hotter air, a corrosion problem should not be an issue because the methanol shouldn't be corrosive to the phenolic cores right?

you could drill and tap the case of the super charger, or add a spacer between the tb and blower. its been done before, dont think you'll catch any heat for wanting to install it.

Meth will eat the coating on the rotors over time though. But if you can drill and tap fittings in your lim for best results

Well first the coating on the Gen v rotors is different than the gen iii and the methanol won't corrode it, plus the ic core corrosion issue is for a/a ic's spraying pre a/a ic core lowers the efficiency of the core they work better the hotter the air, and the corrosion comes from it collecting and pooling at the bottom of the core. It's not even possible for it to collect in our cores, for it to sit, has anyone bought about spraying into the egr port? I've found plenty of data for pre ic post ic pre blower post blower etc, and people have thought about water/meth INSTEAD of an egr, but would it be bad to spray my water meth there? My concern is it getting evenly distributed into all the cylinder there, but theoretically the egr port SHOULD be in the right spot that whatever you spray into it, he it exhaust gas, nitrous, water meth, or even silly silly string, should be distributed evenly with the intake charge because isn't that what the egr is for? To recirculate exhaust gas in order to cool intake temps and stabalize the air/fuel charge, shouldn't spraying water meth there have the same effects except it is just replacing dirty carbon filled exhaust gas with clean water/meth?

I've used it on a gen 3 for five month's. I spray it into a tb spacer it keeps the blower a little cooler. The blower mixes it well and seals the rotors a little better. I wouldn't tune the car to it but use it as a aid. The recommended nozzle size was a seven it seemed to slow the engine down by putting to much into the rotors. I now have a size four and i spray it starting at five pounds of boost. This is on a full bolt on 3.4 set up.

Well I just got my scan gague and right now I've got a gen 5 with a 3.5 inch pulley (with supporting mods) and have 0kr, but it's 19 degrees outside, I don't know what the nozzle translates to, I have the AEM kit. I plan on using the water meth to keep my motor clean and as added insurance. I think I'm going to just have to experiment a little and make another egr blockoff plate and thread that and spray there, I don't really wanna drill into my blower case, with your gen 3 I'd watch out very thing I've read says it eats the coating off those rotors. Did you notice any gains just from bolting it on, with no tune?

Big deal if some of the coating comes off, you'd never notice it anyway. That .5 psi of boost loss, if that is nothing.

Not sure how a fine mist of windshield washer fluid that travels so fast through a supercharger even has time to bond to the surface and slowly eat it away.

Hey I don't know, just from what I've heard, but who's to say no one payed attention to their rotors before they installed it and some doucher with a srt 4 pos wasn't like but yeah it'll eat your rotors and then they checked their **** and noticed normal wear and said the meth did it? No Idea.

I only saw some people sayi g overtime the math was eating at their rotors etc.... I have no first hand knowledge of it on a supercharged app. Just be careful on your tune when you spray it Will read richer so have. Wideband and way to get everything inline for when you spray.

If you don't want to drill and tap the blower for a nozzle then use a TB spacer. Spraying into a EGR block off plate/tube don't make sense. The better attomized the spray is the more cooling effect it will have and spraying through a egr plate/tube would kill that effect.
I wouldn't worry about rotor coating gen 3 or 5, the meth will seal the rotors up way better than any coating, if you're worried about that then drill and tap the LIM for nozzles. LIM is far cheaper to replace seeing you don't want to drill and tap the gen V case after the TB.

I noticed that it runs a little better. I took out my 104 plugs and put in 105s. I didn't have a need for a colder plug after i started using it. I took it to the track and my track times were 2/10th's faster due to less heat soak.

Okay, let's clear some things up here..

One, the whole eating the coating away, like ffdp said, is not a big deal. The only big deal, if you can really call it that is spraying too much water before the blower. Water cannot be compressed, therefore it won't get past the rotors. Now before anyone jumps the gun on me and says "well why do people spray pre blower then, blah blah blah"... This is very unlikely to happen, but, only if you spray a smaller nozzle pre blower.

The only best way, and I'm appalled that you are being a chicken **** about it, is tapping your lim. It isn't hard. If you are nervous about doing it, get a spare lim and drill and tap that, or have someone that is capable of it accomplish the task. It is a 15 minute job to do it. This will provide perfect atomization of the meth/h20.

Lastly, an a/a or a a2w works just the same no matter how cool or hot the air is that is passing through it. My WRX will have the meth injection points set up pre ic and post ic/pre throttle plate. If the core is large enough to handle a large enough drop in IAT, then it will not matter if the meth/water has already cooled the air charge.

So, if you are still frightened by the fact of drilling/tapping your lim, then run either a smaller nozzle in the blower case and run 50/50. Or run a larger nozzle and run 70 meth/30 water. Or 100% meth. Just be sure to calculate what size nozzle you need based on boost/injector capacity. If you have any more questions, PM ME.

well i decided to spray pre blower, and also once i take the LIM off to install the intercooler adecker is sending me, i think i'll also spray into the LIM, i just installed the one injector that came with the kit the one that says 200-350 horse into my K&N tube. and went out to test it a bit. i have a 3.5 inch pulley, cold air intake autolite 103's zzp pcm, K&N cai, zzp stainless headers, 3inch catless dp w/ 3inch electric cutout, and i am seeing 0kr with about 43 deg of timing advance right now, making 12~ psi the roads arent dry today so i wasnt about to be making any high speed tests lol. i had a 3.6 pulley on it and bought the 3.5 for the meth injection and im thinking i was a bit under zealous lol. i didnt get my aeroforce till a few days ago, so i dont have alot to compare my readings with but i did run a 13.3 on race gas before the 3.5 and water/meth.

oh i also have a drilled 180 t stat and shift kit and shortened dogbones with poly mounts, not that it matters much in the water/meth discussion, just a few more mods to list before someone doesent beleive my 13.3 ET lol

and i wasnt being chicken **** about the LIM more so than lazy, and cheap, i didnt want to buy all new gaskets and everything for it till i do my IC install, and i havent seen too much information on where exactly to put the nozels in your LIM, and how many, i was also thinking of spraying some nitrous via my LIM down the line, but ive decided that supercharged/inter cooled/water meth injection/ direct port nitrous is just too many things going on, i'll never find anyone to tune that **** lol. i'll just throw a 200 shot on my 3rd gen camaro and get that nitrous thing out of my system. would there be an issue injecting into my LIM AND pre blower? just paid for my full size i/c so i'll have my top end apart before springtime.
