I have a 2007 GXP 5.3 ls4 and I changed the oil in October to mobile1 synthetic. I don't drive the car in the winter so the car had no miles on the new oil. Well last week I took the car to Memphis TN , about a 1100 mile round trip and when I checked the oil last night it was barely on the dipstick. I added 1 quart and it was back in operating range. That just seems like a lot of oil usage for 1100 miles. I know that there was a problem with the baffles in the valve covers but I was not sure if my car was one of them. It's goin to the dealership on Tuesday and they want to pull the covers off and check them out ... what do you guys think is goin on .... the car still has a drivetrain warranty so at least it won't cost me anything, I just don't like people working on my car...... HELP.....

I started a few times in the last few months and just took it out and drove it to TN . but I keep reading that 1 quart for 2000 miles is acceptable per GM.

well i hate to stray your question, but im in memphis tn what were u here for lol?

I was there for a birthday party / weekend away from the kids . My buddy lives just off riverside drive. We stayed at the doubletree downtown . We pretty much Hung out on beale street for three days.....:th_jester:

oh yeah. ive never stayed in the doubletree but since its right outside tgi fridays ive had to wait in the lobby countless times while waiting for a table.

i wish i lived in harbortown. its one of the few parts of memphis that are actually nice.

We had a great time ,we checked out the zoo, went to kookie kanucks, rendezvous, and I think I found my favorite bar of all time , the saucer...it was fun.. I will be back in September on the 3rd , my buddy is getting married at some plantation , not sure of the name.....

ha that's good. i dont like it here cus of the idiot ghetto people; however, the food is on point and if you're 21 then there's plenty of fun for that. but as far as any other amusement without alcohol or bowling, movies, etc. there is NOTHING to do here.
there are cultural events as well that are pretty neat.

i love cooky canuck, how was rendezvous? i have never been.

Rendezvous sucks, way overrated . We when to the pig on beale st. And the ribs were fantastic.....and we had to hit the waffle house on our way home. We don't have them up here in Indiana....
