What's the deal with having 18" Wheels

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix with 18" wheels. I am looking to get new struts but keep running into the "w/o 17" or 18" wheels". Do I need to find a special strut for my car? New to this forum and appreciate the help. I had a 2004 GTP and now have a 99 GTP that I am fixing up.

Just search RockAuto.com for struts for a '99 Grand Prix.

Any struts from the year 97-03 will work. Doesn't matter on the rim size.

Thank you for the help. every time I have looked it has mentioned this fact and I worried. BTW, love the pic, that is close to what I hope mine looks like someday.

Like I said, look at RockAuto.com, I believe Monroe struts are roughly $60 for a complete strut.

I appreciate the compliment, any car can look like mine. Just have to be dumb enough and drop $8,000+ into it. Lol

I just got some KYB quick struts off of amazon. I like them and would recommend even though the car looks like a 4x4 right now. I think I paid around 420 or so for all 4 corners and they were real easy to put on. Lots of people here recommend kyb so I'd thought id share.

I also have KYB Excel struts and built them myself with my lower springs. I want to say I was only in about $450 for all four corners with all new parts, including a few extra things. KYB is good brand, but I would go with the cheaper Monroe Quick-Struts for only $60 a pop if the car is just a DD, and never plan on lowering.

Monroe quick struts are not $60. They are closer to $100. I know, because I just bought some.

EDIT: I just looked at my receipt. Fronts are $103 plus shipping from RockAuto.

Still a huge help everyone. I kept running into the comment about 18" rims and was worried I needed to buy something special.
