What's some good inexpensive polish for scratches?

I am buying a new buffer from harbor freight.

My car has mostly minor scratches. Maybe a few deep ones but nothing past the paint.

What's some good polish?

OTC... Meguairs UC or megs 105. If its through the clear... Just leave it and the least aggravation method is always what you want to do so give UC a try first.

I always follow Ultimate compound with a polish since it leaves a haze. Its there with the right light.
The results are worth it.
Meguiars Ultimate polish is a great follow up.

wow this stuff works really good. i sanded a few scratches with 1200 grit, and used this stuff over the scratches and it polished it shiny, although it took a little time going over it. maybe 1200 is too much? that's all i have on hand.

how much of this stuff should i use on my 6 inch terry cloth buffing wheel? i think the first time i used too much because polish flew all over the car :D

Like Stryker said Meguiars Ultimate compound is good. I love the stuff. The Harbor freight DA polisher works fine. It is loud so you might want some ear plugs. The DA polisher does way more work in less time. If you get the DA buffer/polisher use an orange pad for the Ultimate compound and Black or red for the wax. I wouldn't use the pads from Harbor Freight, they shred easy. The Harbor Freight pads only have the Velcro (hook and loop) on 5.5 inches of the 6 inch pad and the DA polisher shreds that part without the Velcro.
