Just like the title says What to do about the really caked on road grime and road salt on the supercharger snout and cast metal pieces under the hood?

send it to farnsworth? most cleaners etch aluminum making it look bad, so really elbow grease and some good non caustic cleaner

I use Purple Power, (get it at walmart) diluted 50/50 with water, spray on, wait a couple minutes and rinse with water, you can spray some on a cleaning rag and lightly rub the "trouble spots".

any kind of degreaser will work. I typically use simple green..... cut it with water... spray on... wait...rinse off. If it still looks dirty I will spray it down again and break out some brushes to get to those hard to reach spots.

How do you guys wash your cars in the winter? because I live in ohio and its only in the teens now and not warming up anytime soon

Lived in Alaska, I've washed my car in some cold weather.
Hot water from inside and as little time as possible.

There's also waterless soaps, certain brands I've seen recommended, name escapes me though.
