Hey guys, I new to the Grand Prix world, (please see my introduction.) Can someone tell me what this is: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (Aero Version - It does not include the supercharge kit.)

This is for sale near me, and I am thinking of calling the guy. I have yet to hear of an Aero Version, anybody else? Or did this guy just remove the SC. Thx...Kevin

I think he's confusing a Gbody with a Wbody.

I've never heard of an 02 aero anything Pontiac related.

If it is an 02 GTP and not supercharged, the car has something off about it and I wouldn't waste time looking at it. All 97-03 GTPs will be supercharged from the factory, but avoid the 97's they're just bad news.

G Body: 1978 to 1987 RWD
Chevrolet Malibu/Monte Carlo/El Camino
GMC Caballero
Pontiac Lemans/Grand Prix/Grand Am
Olds Cutlass/442
Buick Regal/GN/GNX
The 78 to 80 cars are shorter overall and were "A" bodies in GM-speak.
The 1981 to 1987 cars were identified as G body or "G-special" depending on model variations.

The W body (FWD) replacements were introduced for the 1988 or 89 Model year

Aero version usually refers to stuff like extra side body molding, hood scoops, extra big spoiler, stuff like that.

They were talking about this in chat the other day. He has it listed as a GTP, but swears there is no supercharger (and will take it to the grave that GPs never came supercharged). If Becky pops in here she can tell you more about it as I think she called the guy. But if it were me, I wouldn't waste my time with someone so stupid.

Hey Kevin...why not take pictures of the car and post them in here so we can actually tell you what kind of car it is.

Also, there is no "Aero" Grand Prix.

And any NON-Supercharged '97-'03 Grand Prix is either a SE or a GT.

Hey i drive a '97.... :(

I still love it all the same...:th_jester:

The 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Aero Coupe was built for NASCAR homologation purposes.
Here's a link to an article from a back issue of Hemmings Motor News:
Hemmings Motor News: Homologation Hotness

I have no idea what the seller is referring to if he is talking about an "Aero Coupe" in the 1997-2008 models.

Sounds and looks like a 40th Anniversary car that had the supercharger pulled off. :th_shakinghead1:

Gotta love those experts out there...

Wow, what an idiot. Id' demand for an under the hood picture to show him hey...that snout is the supercharger and you are a retard.

if you want to get technical i have a grand prix gt w/ a supercharger from the factory w/ the "aero" kit ( side skirts w/ the gtp front and rear bumper)

and my car got the "gtp" conversion on the line which was the badges

last time i heard the aero was only an option on early 97's and then they made it a standard option for gt's and gtp's

i believe you are talking about this, i called the guy, total douche, i told him since it has no supercharger its a gt, 40th annversary, and there is no areo version with the w-body he said" you are a girl, and dont know what the !@#$ you talking about" soooo eff his 8k, he can shove it where the sun dont shine
