what size wrenches for fuel filter on a 02 GTP?

Anybody know off the top of your head? I have the full Gearwrench metric set, but did not buy the SAE sizes. I would like to know what I need so that if I do not have the tool at my house, I can borrow it from my job for the night.

spray liberally with PB blaster or liquid wrench or your favorite form of brake free quite liberally for a day or two prior to trying to remove that filter.

best bet is to use a line wrench like you would on the brake lines. i don't remember off the top of my head but its pretty small id say between 10 and 14mm. adjustable would just round the head

I can't remember, since I only do it once every couple of years....but I would also recommend a line wrench. A regular one may round off the nut.

definately spray that thing down with PB even after i did... i had to use vise grips and beat it loose with a hammer...those nuts can tend to get very stuck.

I checked at work today and the hex size on the fuel filter is a 20mm. The only problem is that 20mm flare nut wrenches are NOT a popular size. I think Snap On has it for about $55, better off with vise grips or just a open end wrench.

Moved to a more appropriate spot :)

I will have to check my line wreches. I know I have some for my break lines, but I think 20mm as mentioned above is way to big. I think its more along the lines of 12-15mm. I will try and check today to get you a better answer.

I just changed my the other day. It is a 16mm on the fuel line. The fuel filter itself is a 20mm. You don't need a flare nut wrench on the filter, just a wrench to hold it and keep the filter from spinning around when disconnecting or reconnecting the fuel line.

Did you have to de-pressurize the fuel line? I know some of the newer cars and trucks fuel lines are pressuruzed from the tank forward...

its a good idea to, just go up front under the hood where the fuel rail is and there will be a shrader valve on it, press it in to de pressurize the fuel system.

i think zef might have it.. i know one of them is 5/8.. spray the crap out of it with pb blaster for a couple days.. and tap the hell out of the nut while doing it too. it was a huge pita on my 01!!
