what ratio rockers are best for a N/A?

00 grand prix gt, 2.5" DP, zzp powerlog and pcm, l26 uim swap, l67TB and DIY cai, but otherwise stock besides suspension. i was looking at the yella terra rockers on intense, and i noticed they now offer them in 1:6,1:7,1:8, and 1:9. I heard somewhere that the 1:9 is too much for the N/A motor, but i dont know if thats true. my goal for this car is to add as much fun to it as i can without destroying the gas mileage because its my daily driver. also, does anyone know what kind of gains an N/A motor gets from high ratio rockers? all the numbers ive seen are questionable advertising about supercharged gains.

As long as your n/a, stock rockers are the best. There's really not much of a gain to be had with them.

OK, so EGR are the way to go. is there a reason that they are better then the yella terra ones? I just thought that YT was like the "gold standard" when it comes to rockers. and does anyone have hard numbers regarding gains?

Have you thought of doing an hv2 from zzp or a GT1 cam?
I have heard so many mixed reviews about the hv2 insert that i really hadnt considered it to be of much use. Really been thinking bout the GT1 cam though. I'm just worried that if I get the cam instead of the rockers, i'll never have the time or tools to actually install the damn thing. dont you have to yank the engine out to swap the cam?

Few notes. First, if anyone tells you that it's not worth it to increase rocker ratio, they don't know their car very well. If you don't want to machine your heads then your options are rockers or cam. If you don't mind machining the valve seats you can do both. Just remember that one makes your cam bigger, and the other makes your cam seem bigger. As far as the HV3 goes..in stock form it does help to aim your airflow. You'd see like 3hp increase on the bottom end. Maybe 10 on the top end. Couple the HV3 with the GT1 cam as I have, and you're looking at potentially 30+ hp increase at the top of your RPM band. Let me know if I can help you in any way. I'm in the middle of my build right now. My setup is:
Rollmaster single timing setup
GT1 cam
New manley chromoly pushrods
CTS-VR lifters
LS9 valvesprings, seals, and retainers
Self port and polish on the heads
HV3 insert
Iridium plugs
Blue streak plug wires
Cometic .052 mls headgaskets

I'm expecting a 50hp bump at the crank or better.
I'll be adding a centrifugal S/C down the road with about 15psi of boost.

Don't forget your valve covers lol and I'm looking to do an hv3 and gt1 cam let us know how the rockers feel what's the price on those?

I only say it's not worth it when n/a because you are going to eventually hit a brick wall of performance. Once you are boosted it's a whole different story. I mean, yeah, you can make decent power when n/a, but you are not going to get as far as you would without some form of forced induction.

Some of us don't want it that drastic some of us just like keep our DD all u guys s/c are so insistent on top swapping or turboing just suport some us n/a guys and help us lol

You'll hit a brick wall for sure. But when I can just barely lose to a car that has $10k more into it than I do, I'll be smiling all the way to the back. Not to mention my car will be cheaper to fix, run cooler, and be more reliable :-)

I honestly don't know how to reply to that.... besides saying you're high if you think you'd beat another car that had 10k in parts alone on it...
