As we all know the Grand Prix tranny is sub par to say the least. Now comes the time for me to build my tranny in fear that it may turn into cottage cheese. I was just wondering what parts people use which are good which you could do with out tips, suggestions.

driving habits, what tires, do you plan on launching hard, taking it to the track, what kind of power, whos building it.

Answer all of those, and you should be able to find the answers yourself.

Drive normally take it to the track occasionally thinking about putting street drag radials on. So far for mods I have (in short) headers....3"exhaust, xp cam, 3.2 and supporting mods and thinking on going IC. Running on stock tranny right now. I am thinking input shaft, hardened 4th but don't really know what else to do I haven't really looked into transmission mods

the chain and input shaft don't like hard launches with sticky tires, nor do they like power with full weight cars.

Around where you're at is where you start to put those pieces at risk.

Suggest talking to dave at tripleedgeperformance.com.
