i need a motor for my 00' GP GT. i was trying to figure out what motors and years will go right into my car. what other cars motors will go into ours, and whats the newest year i can put in? i found a 05' 3800 out of a malibu with 40k on it for 900$. will that work? and a good price? Thank you!!

468 bbc. 05 is a series 3, so technically no. Basically any series 2 3800 from 97 to 03 will work out of any w-body with maybe a minor tune on the pcm

3 cylinder 1.0L geo metro engine. $50. if u turbo it u can get 102 fwhp. put an l67 in it.

102hp per liter is very good...for a 1.0L. haha. :th_laugh-pointup:

I agree. Put an l67 in it. Might want to upgrade the tranny tho if you are going to be wanting to do any mods down the road or want to make it reliable. Well, more reliable.

^ That is true. Malibus had the 3.1 not the 3.8. Must have been thinking of that.

ok since this is an N/A car. how difficult is it to put a l67 in it? if it is realitivly easy i'd rather do that in a heartbeat!

Well you have a blower motor,IAC motor, window motors, wiper motor and even possibly a sun roof motor. Any of those will go in with relative ease.

Everyone else covered your engine options.

increase compression on naturally aspirated and supercharged cars, and for turbocharged applications it is usually a better idea to lower compression because turbos are more efficient at the higher boost levels. Keep in mind that raising compression will increase the chance of KR, so it may require you to run less boost, but you will make more hp per lb of boost.
