from valve cover to intake boot, its a plastic tube, if you are looking at the engine from the TB it goes from the rubber intake hose/boot to the right valve cover but their is no valve or anything, just open... is this just a PCV without the P? its awfully loose and am wondering if it could be causing a vacuum leak or some other time of problem

Welcome to the world of wonderful 3.1L vacuum poop. I've always wondered how the 3.1's run as well as they do with all those obvious leaks
 
yup, theres a crap load of them, maybe thats why idles so bad, but its only at idle when vacuum is the highest everywhere else its just fine
