What is this spring !! Found it on my drivers side floor.

I found this on my drivers side floor. Any ideas on what it could be ?

Approximately 6" long by 3/4" diameter.

The wife said something like that also.

The blend door actuator stopped working the other day, wonder if this might be an internal spring to the blend door ?

Just guessing at this point, no fun crawling upside down under the dash at my age.

It might be for the steering wheel tilt lever.

I thought that also, because shortly before finding it I used the tilt. lever still works though.

keep in mind i drive a regal, but if i pop off my console top cover part off, then around and under the shiftier rectangle part is a spring just like that in all 4 corners. i can push down on all 4 corners and it springs back up when its all installed, so try pushing on all 4 corners, see if one has no spring to it.

I popped the center console (between the seats ) cover off an looked all around the shifter and there are no springs in that area.
GP must be a little different than Regal, thanks.

I also checked the brake pedal , under seat spring, e-brake springs and hood release.
