Hey Guys.

Been hearing a worsening squealing from my front right tire area. Replaced the break pads last year so its not the wear warning bar for those. This is what I found when I took it apart this evening.

Is this some type of warning bar for rotor warping or bearing failure? I bent it back and put everything together and no more noise!!!

What is this Part Called and What is it For?
 


It's just a shield for the ball joint or something like that, they bend sometimes and you just need to bend it back.
 
That's just the dust shield. Mounts to the spindle in-between the wheel bearing assembly. Probably got a little bent when you did the brakes originally. Pretty common occurrence.
 
It's actually a gasket or spacer that goes between the wheel hub and knuckle to prevent the hub from corroding onto the knuckle...
