• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What is it with the coolant system in these cars

That doesnt help me any.

Have you done ANYTHING to figure it out??

Coolant flush, new water pump, new thermostat???

A sticking thermostat will make the heat up time take longer.

I put everything in my 97 new including radiator but I haven't really done anything to my 05 but put it on the genesis at wor and it says is some type of malfunction

My 05 is doing the same thing as my 97 and I done everything short of a flush it the intakes are seeping in my 05 I don't want to take a chance and blow the gaskets out

Could you elaborate a little bit more about your issue? How long is the car running before it hits operating temp? The LIM gaskets need to be replaced asap. Also using periods and commas will help you out as well. Grammar goes a long way.

It runs at the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge and when I come up my hill the temp rises quick or under hard throttle

with the hills out there it could just be that your working the engine/trans hard and or you may be experiencing trans slippage which the trans cooler pumps the heat into the coolant via the radiator mounted H/E

THe "1/4" mark on the later ones, at least on my 07 is about normal operating temp. When you get closer to the middle mark you are actually getting a little too warm.

Trans is working hard on the hills . That really heats up the transmission. plus if you use AC , that's another heat load on the cooling system due to the placement of the condensor.
cleaning the radiator out , dust dirt leaves etc, helps as well as new radiator if dex has coated /plugged the radiator

I don't feel any slipping in the trans and I was afraid of that being too hot what can I do to eliminate this I don't want to hurt it I might just need to go ahead and do the intakes but I was wanting to do them when I got me a intercooler set up

If your intake gaskets are leaking outside the motor, they are also leaking into the cam valley under the intake manifold. I had them fail completely on my 1997 Lumina with the 3.1L This caused the engine oil to thin out, eventually locking up the motor. 3 gallons of 50/50 Dexcool with turn 4.5 quarts of 5W30 into a useless mess.
