What is causing my MAF to go out?

I initially was having poor performance problems - LES read MAF sensor so I changed it out. Problem was still there - changed my fuel filter and still no luck. Changed the catalytic converter and I had a new car for almost two months.
Then recently my car starts stalling out - which it had never done before. Anytime I would give it more than a feather of gas it would die. Many times I would start the car it would immediately die. Idling up and down very rough then die. When I was first having issues 2 months ago with performance I bought a reman MAF sensor. As the MAF sensor read again and it was still under warranty I exchanged and car ran great for two more weeks.
Now today after work car would die again immediately after starting it. Give it gas and it would die - exact same symptoms as two weeks prior where I changed the MAF again and was fine.
However, I unplugged the MAF and engine is running fine now - meaning the MAF is bad again? I really don't think it is bad again and if it is there is obviously something causing it to fail.
What is causing the MAF sensors to fail? Is my MAF sensor fine? The computer also read MAF sensor or low circuit? Is the low circuit thing my problem? If so, why is there a low circuit?
Thanks in advance for any ideas. This car is driving me nuts!

Where are the MAF sensors from?
Do you have a K&N or oil type air filter?
Any MAF you buy from an auto parts store (as far as I know) will be remanufactured. So it was already "bad" once. What did they do to fix it so it can be sold again? I'm not sure.
My personal experience, I had one from Autozone last a year. I replaced it with one from NAPA because the NAPA one has a LIFETIME warranty (with receipt). So they have a pretty high opinion of their part to offer that kind of a warranty. It's been fine ever since.
In your case it could be a connector issue (loose wire or bad contact) or it could be another bad MAF.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!
