What if my DIC is acting up?

Its not totally a big deal but the DIC is not working properly on this car either. The range indicater for the gas and other functions will just bounce numbers at me.Sometimes low number, next minute high number.(it will say im at 65 range but five minutes later it will say 329).Sometimes it will tell me that the fuel is low even though i just put fuel in it,than it will bounce back to a high number.Or the low fuel will show up on screen but if you drive abit or cut car off the low indicator will disapear. The digital car does show you when doors and trunk are open.Hit the reset and that does nothing. So the bottom line is it seems some functions work and some arent. What should i do?

So the DIC is also tied into the low fuel sensor? You know from my other post that the fuel level indicator on the cluster is acting weird too.The reset button does nothing on mine.I was wondering if this thing works independently from the computer. What would happen if you disconnected it?

If you disconnected what?

The sensor is going to be tied into both the dic and the cluster. Your car bases range on how much you have left/ your average or instant mpgs. The sensor should be about $25 new.

Well i was saying disconnect the DIC.From what i read it simply unplugs from the back.If it is the sensor and that solves issue well that would be prefered. However still doesnt explain why the reset button does nothing.By the way is that low fuel sensor in the gas tank? It was in another car i had repaired.

My gtp does the same thing, but the fuel guage bounces around, which makes the DIC go all whacky. Bad fuel sending unit I believe. I just count the miles per full tank with the trip computer.
