• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

what does tuning do to your car

It maximizes the power and economy potential of you're car.

You usually take the whole car to someone to have it tuned or can simply buy a pcm (computer) from someone that is already tuned and all you have to do is swap it out.

If you're buying a pcm they typically cost about 150.

When you buy a new car, the computer is set to the standards to sell it as economical as possible. The car is capable of alot more. Also when you star to mod, you have to match up the PCm with certain things you do for it to run properly. For your basic mods, you can probably get away with out a tune, but it is recommended.

how do you guys with the older style pcms adapt to mods??? mine seems to adapt very well. when i put my headers on i had a check engine light. no cat, but after a few mins it went away. guess it worked it self out. also it took about a week for the pcm to learn itself in with the headers. once it did dang it really moved out then.
