What do you guys think

As i brought it up a while ago my car has been in the shop for the past two months got a cam and headers installed and i had it for two days in between the two months and i spun three bearings now heres what happened once i got the car back for those three days....
Got the whole engine replaced from a supercharged bonneville had the VS cam installed and headers put on got it back I did beat on it before my tune that i got on the second day which i know was not the smartest thing ever to do now but than i babied it to get it tuned i was showing 0 Kr during the tune and it ran amazing drove it home 60 miles on the free way with a couple WOT runs on some of the streets off of the freeway than i got home picked up my friend and did another WOT run and let off the gas in between shifts and than all my problems started immediately and spun 3 bearings
So does anyone have a guess of what might have caused it cause i am really nervous about getting my car back cause i am now 7k more in debt from these two rebuilds so im just straight up scared out of my mind i will have a tuner soon to maybe changing some things if i have any problems related that way

Who did the install of the cam?
What bearings did you spin?
Where were the bearings that spun?
What was the miliage on the engine?

KR does not cause spun bearings. Oiling issues and dirt along with normal ware and user install error of the engine does though.

A local shop
1 main bearing and 3 rod bearings
im not sure exactly where they were spun
and only 50,000 miles on the engine just bought it but i think it might have been neglected
do you think the cam install could of gone wrong? and thats what caused it?

did they leave coolant in the oil after doing the cam? did they ever run the car with low oil?

the only reason for a spun bearing, like parker said, is water in the oil or no oil at all. even with my car the oil pressure is low, but that is because i beat the ever living crap out of my motor so the bearings are starting to have clearance issues. it still will run and drive fine for quite a while.

Coolant + Oil = Fail

IF they did...get your money back and have someone that knows what they are doing work on it IMO.

after i took it to this new guy who i should of took it to in the first place that was the first question he said the oil was perfect so i think before i got this engine it was poorly maintained so than i should be a-ok after they get it back together with a new crankshaft(fml) and new bearings ?

new crank maybe if not respun, a align-bore to make sure the journals are in line, new rods and caps maybe.

how silver is the oil?

driving it while spun??

its not hard to spin bottom end bearings, its not easy but its not hard.

I put a new carb on one of my toys a few years back, brand new GM zz430, the same day the carb was installed I threw a rod bearing on a shift. no clue why.

before the BS flies, the motor had been broken in 2k rpms for 30 minutes( 10 extra just incase)

well im saying that my crank is shot now the journals are bad and so i have to get a new one and its getting all setup by a reputable hot rod shop in the area and i asked the guy just to check the cam make sure its installed correct just in case of anything cause the shop that put it in im not trusting very much now
and i dont know about the silver in the oil

but thats why i wanna know spending 6 grand i dont have has scared the **** out of me this car seriously has me up at night im finally supposed to get it this week so i just wanna figure out what it was

so you bought a used bottom end and didnt even bother to open it up? the myth of "junkyard 3800's are fine don't rebuild them" needs to come to a stop, look you're 7 grand into the car again, look at majority who buys the 3800 cars, of course they are going to be neglected, "i change the oil when i remember" sorry to hear about what happened, hopefully you learned your lesson

well see i figured that since they did put a warranty on the motor i bought it would of never been that bad but since i got the cam put in it voided the warranty... but hell if it was good enough that they took the risk of putting a warranty on it in the first place i thought id be ok

usually a fairly taken care of 100k junkyard n/a 3800 will only need bearings just to freshen it up... but ALWAYS open it up and spec everything out.... good insurance. And do the cam bearings b/c they are the oil pressure lifeline.
