Im sure that this has been asked before but Im just wondering what kind of wax, polish, tire shine, and/or other car care products you guys like to use. I personally like mothers or meguires.

I was at the Forest Lake walmart and saw a product line called Surf City. I havent seen/heard of this line of products at any other stores or any other walmarts except the one in Forest Lake. Has anyone ever used any of these products? They are kind of expensive. But the surf city product line has its own section and its not mixed in with the other products.

What do you guys use on your door seals?

i use the same meguiars natural shine stuff that i use on the dash. its sort of like a moisturizer. can be used on vinyl, plastic, etc. so i just put it on the door seals and it gives them a nice look anyway.

I used Mother's back to black on the Camaro once. Then used regular armoral protectant spray and didn't notice really any difference.

I've thought about using my Zaino tire stuff to see how it works.

Zaino is amazing.

When reconditioning rubber products...I use a coarser towel compared to microfiber, such as terry cloth. I usually spray Turtle Wax F22 Sun Protectant on the towel...then apply. That way it doesn't get all over the place as well. I normally do that about once a month or so...but the more it initially needs conditioning, the more often you'll have to apply whatever product your using at first.

But like I said...I have always had great luck with F21 or F22...pretty sure it is F22, but its in a tall, Windex style, green bottle. Cheap as well...which I like the most ;)

the surf city products are all pretty good. cant go wrong with them

I use:
Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax
Meguiars Natural Shine for dash, etc (Armor all doesnt touch my car)
Stoner Invisible Glass
Stoner More Shine (tire spray)
Rain-X

I think that is it.

I dont like the oily feeling and look that it leaves behind. I have seen stuff eventually crack and change colors bc of it too.

my aunt uses armor-all on her grand prix. and her seats are in brand new condition. i mean leather that is so soft it feels like a baby's ass. im jealous becuase MY leather is nice but hers is just like it rolled off the factory line.

I would recommend to wash the car with zip wax by turtle wax, its available at walmart, either macguires or armour all tire foam(maguires is better) and just any rim cleaner. The zip wax works amazing. Also make sure you use a chamois to get any spots off after washing so dry with the chamois.

Armorall is not good unless you continually use it. AA contains isopropyl alcohol which in time can disolve rubber material and fade plastics. Also when not continually used, it can dry your vynl and crack it over time.

Hard water spot removal on widows - Rag soaked in vinegar ---press the soaked rag against the window for a few second and take a papertowel or microfiber cloth to wipe off, usually takes care of it.

To clean windows (safe for tinted) - 3 parts water 1 part rubbing alcohol - cheap, does an awesome job and does not harm window tint.

Cleaning leather - Saddle soap, stiff hair brush, elbow grease for cleaning stains in the leather and getting dirt off. Then I go back through and use Griot's leather conditioner.

Waxing - all Megiuar's products

Clay bar every time before waxing

The liquid rubbing compound - Works awesome on faded bumpers etc. Also takes out swirls and other minor scratches.

The polish

NTX or NXT Car wax

I also use a Porter Cable orbital buffer for the final wax.

I get amazing results the paint keeps a nice "wet look" for a few weeks

Im a big fan of menzerna products for polishing, and like poor boy products for wax and sealant. used to be a big tropicare fan, but they are no longer. Prefer to use mequires natural shine on my interior, and mequires purple gel on the tires. And I always clay before waxing. Usually use the mothers clay bar kit and detail spray for lubricant.

And if you dont have a Porter Cable, I suggest getting one. They are awesome!

Rodney - were to you purchase the replacement pads for your porter cable? The local place I used to get mine closed their doors. ugh.

When I get mine back together I will have to post up some pics, the rear bumper of this car is really faded. So it will be a great piece to show the difference going through all the steps. Well atleast the steps I take anyways.
