what are all the reasons why my car IDLES high ?

My '01 idles at 3500rpm right from the start (in Park an Neutral) and does not go any lower. In Reverse and Drive it goes down to about 1600rpm and also does not go any lower. Something is definitely wrong here, check engine light is On, but haven't pulled the codes yet.

So, please list for me all the known reasons why a car would idle high and not go down as the car warms up. Thanks.

The idle does not fluctuate, just stays at 3500rpm, and with a light tap to the throttle goes to 4000rpm, and just stays there.

Which vacuum line could be the source of this massive leak ? .. Brake booster to Intake Manifold ?

sounds like you have a sensor unplugged. Happened to me when I was taking the Vac Lines off, somehow the sensor came unplugged. Give me a minute and ill find out which one. Or maybe it is bad alltogether.

get the code for the cel and go from there, unless you like to guess and throw money away.

autozone will scan your car for free. as well as other parts stores.

alright. It was either the one the arrow is pointing to, or the one below it. And I'm just saying this is what happened to my car. It may or may not be your problem.

Well, I should probably also mention that this happened after I replaced my worn out Intake Manifold gaskets on this car, upper and lower. I thought that I was very careful in plugging all the electrical connectors back to their original sensors and all the vacuum lines to their appropriate places as well. However, things happen so I could have messed up somewhere along the line. I'll double check my routing once I get some time.
