• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Went to the track last Sunday

Can you tell me what Cam and which Pulley you are running.
Great times !

Is the transmission still 100% stock ?

It's an XP cam on a 3.0 pulley.

The trans is stock, but I did drop the pan, change the filter, and stuck a couple spacers in the 1-2 accumulator to make it shift a little quicker. Other than that, bone stock with 163k miles of abuse.

That gives me confidence in running nitrous on my own.

Do you baby it off the line ? or do you do anythign special to make the stock input shaft last... ?
What kind of tires are you using ?

Nope, I spray the whole shot right at the line, all the way til the end. Probably going to put a progressive controller on it to help with traction and be a little easier on the trans.

Shock load is what breaks input shafts and drive chains. Keep your shifts as soft as you can. Sticky tires with a big, squishy sidewall help a lot too.

The slicks are MT ET Drags 26x10 15".

I've got a few passes in the 11's, lots in the deep 12's all on this setup. But, I do trailer it to the track, because I'm sure something could snap anytime.

Not blaming anybody if it breaks but this gives me more confidence in my trans! I have the same milage too. I was always nervous to go above a 50 shot especially with my new turbo setup. What about your CV axels? Just using my nitrous i messed up my left one so bad it was pulling my car to the left!

Thanks for being honest and giving all the details. That will help me get quicker on my end.
Not many guys risk stock transmission on a powerful set up like that.

From what I have found, it's best to keep stock ride height in the front, and a good set of GM axles. I've never broken one, just had the boots tear from weak springs. I think most break due to incorrect suspension geometry. Keep your geometry correct, and I doubt anyone here makes enough power to break a stock GM axle. I'm pretty sure MattM was running one stock grand prix axle, and one stock Berretta axle.

No problem. Let me know if you have any more questions. These cars really love nitrous, and I'd like to see more people using it.

Nitrous works well with anything but it has an additional Kick in forced fed application with the cooling effect and an extra compounding effect on a turbocharger (making it possible to create more boost/spin it faster)

Yep, you guys tried water/meth injection ? I homemade my setup but its all the same stuff. I also have the mixture spraying on my intercooler.
