Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Well since I retired the silverado from spl competition, and I have moved on from spl it is time to build an awesome sound quality system. I am going to build this on a moderate budget, excep the the sound deadening. Also doing a little extra things.

Here are some of the boring start up pictures:

3 and a half rolls of this deadener (conting what I laready have in it 250 square foot or so total), plus a couple rolls of sound absorbing material (about 100 sq. ft. or so).

Hidden under ash tray removable switch panel, rough in stage (write up on this when I finish it)

What in the world am I going to do with all those led's you ask? You will see soon enough.

looks good so far...I want to buy another car for sound comp. in about 6 or so months when the GP is pais off...

Getting rid of the alpine 9885, and going with the 9886. Rockford fosgate 360.2 proccesser, and the newer mini series rf 1000.1, 400.4, and 400.2.

Haven't really decided on subs yet but I know I want a single 10", probably an alpine type-x or a fi car audio q series. Component speakers are kind of hard to decide on, I am torn between many brands. I am digging the new pioneer d-series comps though.

Got any suggestions on comp. speakers from your experience also?

the new critical mass ones are fabulous, I really like the sound of the db drive also (I like the off the wall brands for some reason)

hey off the wall doesn't mean they aren't good. I used sundown audio before anyone even knew who they were, and actually did beta testing for a lot of start up companies that are realtively big now (fi, sundown, re way back when)
I was looking at some of the critical mass stuff, there subs look really good especially the slim series.

Well I really dont have much to update other than I got all the sound deadening in, carpet reinstalled and added some neons under the seat and some strobes under the dash and in the grille. I did take a few pics but not much, because nothing important was really done today.

neon placement

forgot to turn the flash off, but they are on in this pic.

I believe that people should never use this to control turning on and off your neons, because 1) it is really "ricer like" and 2) it is intrusive, messy, ugly, and not as nice as turning them on with a switch.

only the cig lighter plug is "ricer like" ?

:D

haha, neons are ricer like also, but hey I like 'em, lol. But on the real, if you are going to wire something up in you car, hard wire on a switch instead of using cig plug, FTW. Even my radar detector is hardwired so it turns on automatically, when I turn the car on.

i wholeheartedly agree. or at least hide the plug and wire a switch to the outlet.

redneck ricer would be the people who make a wing for their civic out of plywood. haha. I actually think there are pics of this floating around the net somewhere.

cant be just plywood to = redneck ricer... must include duct tape!

well I decided what components I am going to use, well that is if they ever email me back.
Hybrid Audio Technologies Home
I am going to use the 8" 4" and 1" tweet 3 way comp set.

I am going to use 2 different subwoofers, in two seperate boxes. I will leave one in for daily driving, the when a competition comes around switch it out with the other.

1 sub will be a fi car audio ssd 15" in a ported spare tire well enclosure.
the other sub will be a fi car audio q series 10" in a sealed spare tire well enclosure.

Instead of buying new amps, I am going to use my sundown audio saz-1500, 100.4, and 100.2 and processing will be done by 360.2 still.

trying to work out a sponsor deal with kinetic batteries.

Be prepared to see lots of suede, I don't know why but I am going to wrap everything in suede just because I can. haha

Got a lot to do at work the next 4 days so prolly no updates till after that.

Looks like one heck of a setup you're building there.

As for the neons, they're a great touch on a show quality car. It's people who stick them on a crummy looking car (and leave the tubes showing, wires sticking out, etc) that give them a bad name.
