weird whining noise

hello everyone i am new and this is my first post. i have just purchased a 2001 gtp and i have some loud whining noise coming from the passenger side of the motor. it goes away when at low rpm, and at higher rpm like 3000 it is really nasty sounding. like a rough whining, could this be the pulley on the s/c pulley or the bearing on the pulley going out. any advice would get helpful

sounds like a power steering pump is going bad. check the fluid level.

the is cap in under the alternator, you get the cap from the back of the engine, under the alt. wait till the cars cold, its a messed up place and the heater core hoses are there and get very hot.

hows the steering? stiff, or hard to turn when at idle and in park? whine more when you try to turn the wheels?

if it turns better with some rpm's the pump is going bad. all sings of a bad pump.

sry for taking so long to reply um the steering it fine the rmp jumps a little when i am in park and turn the wheel. it only makes the noise between 2500 and like 3200 then it stops and all u can hear is s/c
