Weird starting issues

I just bought an 04 GP GT. Almost immediately after I signed the papers, it started having starting issues. What it does is spin the motor just fine with the starter, but just fire a little and miss then die. If I hit the throttle at just the right time, it'll start. I thought maybe the battery had some lot rot, but charging it had no effect. I'm not sure where to go from here. Ordinarily I'd say IAC but this looks to be drive by wire so no IAC. Once started it runs just fine.

Ideas?

My '04 was doing the same thing. I just went out and bought some MAF sensor cleaner and throttle body cleaner and cleaned the piss out of it(pitch black stuff came out of my throttle body for a good 15 minutes). But after that it starts just fine!

I had the same problem for the longest time, I nuked by throttlebody and so far haven't had the problem since.
 
X3 on cleaning the throttle body. $5 can of cleaner..10-15 minutes and haven't had the issue since.
