weird problem going up hill at low rpm

ok im pretty damn sure this has to do with my tranny but i think there is a possibility it could be the motor. ok so when going up hill around 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm at 30mph or 50km/h in 3rd gear i can see the tach bouncing about 100rpm like it want to downshift but wont do it. more than enough power to make it up the hill with the engine speed it has been doing it no problem for 3 years now and last week this started. you can hear the engine changing pitch also. no vibrations while this is happening either. so let me know if you have had this problem or have an idea on what i could be.

at around 30, it'll drop into 3rd and for me anyways it start to feel like its lagging, like the torque converter is locking up ya know, just take your foot off the gas and go back into it and it'll be fine.

Two things are common here. The first is.. you have a high load, low rpm situation. So check and tune up the engine. Plugs, wires, coil posts for corrosion, TB cleaning etc. That is a big cause of this kind of issue. The other is actually in the trans and one that costs much more than a tune up.
TCC rpm oscillation

i have new plugs, a new upper intake manifold, done the upper and lower intake gaskets about a year ago and after that was done ran injector cleaner through it. i have changed my maf sensor also a year and a bit ago and the throttle body was very clean. so guess its safe to say tranny! and yes it is high load, low rpm but this has only started happening recently i have been climbing this hill at this speed for 3 years in 3rd gear at about 1600 rpm with no trouble. if i put my foot into it it will downshift and then 2500rpm and no bouncing. i will get something to clean my maf sensor. its possible a bit of oil from the cone filter has gotten on it. what do you suggest to clean it with? will brake cleaner do or no? thanks for the link has given me a few things to think of!

How new are your plugs and what brand and model are they?
You don't mention wires. Let's talk about them
Coils.. are they clean?

plugs i got from the dealer, cant remember the brand of them they were changed about 35 000 km ago, wires are probably quite old ive never changed them so im guessing they are stock. il pull them off when i get a chance to check the terminals and il do a resistance test on the wires. but i will look into replacing them.

just checked the coil and they are clean. but it was very tough to removed the wires from coil 6 & 3. checked transmission oil after a nice drive and is good ( a little over full but not by much) engine oil is ok too. thats all i could do today ran out of day light.
