Weird noise at cold start.

So, today when starting my car, after three days of not using it, where the temps have been between -15C and -25C.

Strange noise was being made by the engines, this lasted for several minutes before going silent again, to the normal operating noise.

At first, there was a squeaky A/C pulley making noise and this, then we threw some oil on the A/C pulley, it was good after, by the noise, remained : This one Strange 3800 N/A noise. - YouTube

It's not really the first time it does it, but it's the first time I notice it that it last like this. And this is also the first time where I start it up, go out and begin cleaning the snow out of it, and then bam, the engine dies, start it up, bam dies again, then start it up, rev it a bit, keep it at 2000 rpm, call it good, go out, wait a few secs, it dies. We kept it reved a few minutes, heavy black smoke was coming out of the mufflers for a few seconds. Then after a bunch of work, it seemed to be good, only leaving this noise. I hooked my scanner and saw the Mass air flow sensor code, I sadly didn't keep it in note, and erased it to see if it would re-appear. It was the code about MAF not being responsive for 2 seconds or more.

I got myself some fuel-line anti-freeze. Trying it out. And also, the car starts good now and doesn't make the sound very much audible like that. It also drives just like it normally does, no overheat, no bad thing, no SES light.

Sounds like maybe the lifters clattering a bit. Does the noise ever go away, say after it warms up?

And try cleaning the MAF sensor and see if it helps the dying issue. Or you could just disconnect it and try and start it and see if it eventually smooths out and idles. May take a minute for the ECU to catch up, but it will eventually run off the pre-programmed tables (limp mode). Just don't go driving it around and beating on it.

It stopped after it got warm. When I left out home, it was quiet(Quiet enough that me and my dad wondered if it had died again), and when I came back, quiet.

I seriously hope it's nothing bad, as I'm like, already gathering parts for a top swap...

Ah also, oil is 5w-30

Edit:
Didn't do it again when I started it on to go somewhere tonight, was all good it seems.

sounds like my car when its cold, I could take a cold start video if you like but pretty sure mine does the same, as for the chuggin and dying my did this when i took the Throttle body Screen out, i put it back in boom no issues, you got your screen in?

Didn't check for the TB Screen. But this is probably the lifters clattering, it rarely happens, only when it's really damn cold and that the car doesn't move for 2-3 days. And then, there's the squeaky A/C pulley noise that we figured out, didn't happen again, but is still sometimes squeaky. But I guess it's nothing too bad.

I'll plug my car this night, since I may work tomorrow and that it's supposed to go down -35C this night.

And BlackGT97, I know the noise from the HAI, it's not that noise, I'm used from the HAI noise. This isn't what the noise it is. It came right from the middle of the engine, ie, where the lifters are.
