Wanted to say Hi and I have my first question/ topic

Hi everyone, I have a 2001 GT that I love and I wanted to say hi, tell everyone that I tried the sequential/ alternating tail light mod that worked great and is a wonderful free modification so thanks to everyone that showed how to accomplish it. But my first question or topic to discuss is I notice there are a lot of people on here that have aftermarket rims or for the most part it appears everyone respects their wheels, but how does everyone deal with the break dust. I had a 99 SE before my GT and I installed ceramic brake pads on it that did nothing to solve the problem and now I find myself constantly cleaning off my wheels and if anyone is like me I can't just clean the wheels, I have to wash the entire car. Anyway I guess I'm asking if anyone had any good luck as far as pads are concerned with handling or reducing the break dust?

Thanks and I look forward to talking with everyone.

I live in Troy IL but I grew up in O'Fallon a town over or so. In a nut shell I am on the Illinois side of St. Louis.

Oh, I'll post a picture or two on the main forum page in a couple of minutes even though the car is almost completely stock but I thought it would be nice to show everyone what the new guy drives..

Thanks for the tip, I noticed on the brake forum page that someone installed cross and drilled roters with posiquiet pads and they look great and I'm sure they improve breaking by a bunch but he didn't say anything about the brake dust and if they reduced it or not. I know its stupid asking that because I'm sure they again out perform by a bunch but I freakin hate the brake dust it looks so crapy when it builds up and I drive on the interstate eveyday and when I brake hard all I can think about is how much build up will this cause?

Thanks, do you know the brand, where you got them from and the cost. Sorry for the barrage of questions. And I have a pict. of my car in the Apperance Forum page.

Thank you so much man. Question about the sit eif you have time. how do you put a picture on the forum without using the attachment link and how do you put your signature pict on the bottom of eveything you write. Thanks for your time, sorry if I seem annoying

Hey man, it's never a problem. If you need something just ask. At the top of the page under the guages, click on user cp. When that page pops up, look in the column on the left under settings and options. In that section, click on edit signature and that will take you to the page to add it in. You might have to play with it a little to get it like you want, but all you have to do is go back to it the same way and you can make any change you want. If you have any more questions, just ask.

For that we use photobucket.com. It's free to join. Uplaod your pics there, copy the url of the pic you want and click the insert image button, square with mountains and yellow sky, and put the url there and when you post your message, the pic will pop up.

wlecome!!!! and for the dust I just wipe off with a dry towel...I use cali duster on the body and try to wash with soap as little as possible

Yeah, I'll see if I can get my fiancee to clean up my wheels when she gets home from work. I'm sure she will go for that. HAHA. I can't laugh at that enough. HAHA HAHAHA
