• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Want to modify your dash bezel to fit a double din? Look here!

I think Kitty Hair is actually a brand lol
-Edit- okay not a brand but its still copyrighted http://www.evercoat.com/productDetail.aspx?pID=38
yeah thats the stuff! not everyone will be able to find that brand locally though... as long as the can says long strand fiberglass reinforced body filler you've got the right stuff. Oh and just a heads up so people aren't confused... plastic filler and or kitty hair is usually a green color, unlike bondo which is redish pink

I've always wanted to try something like this but never actually seen a write up for it. I may give it a shot someday now that I've seen it done.

This is why I created the write up. Just so some people have something to follow. Definitely give yourself the weekend. It's a slow process but well worth it in the end. Looks awesome and factory.

Ok, I was wondering if the fiberfill or an epoxy would work better for holding the dowels ect. I would almost want to do some sort of metal reinforcement, pop rivet it, bondo\fiberglass. I think this would add a bit more strength and rigidity.

Not a bad job for your first go at it. Kudos for trying something new to you!

I was wondering how people mounted the radios behind the bezels. Did you just use some standard l brackets from the hardware store? Do they make an actual mounting kit from another car that will work?

My question is why not use the plastic piece that fits around the head unit and mold it into the dash bezel?

My question is why not use the plastic piece that fits around the head unit and mold it into the dash bezel?

Because the plastic piece that goes around the double din, was too big to even allow the Head-Unit to fit in the stock radio "hole." I would have had to cut into that as well, and not just the dash bezel.

if I were to pay for it all could I get you to make me one of these?

I could try again, but like I said in the write-up, I am no professional and it will not come out perfect.
