want to know what my squeak is

I have a 2002 Grand prix 3.8 (non-super charged) and currently when pressing on the accelerator i am hearing a squeak that seems louder when I open up my passenger's side window rather than my driver's side window. I do currently have transmission issues: I had the transmission fluid changed and because I followed the book and did it 50,000 miles apart and through the new high pressure way, my transmission slips after that car gets warmed up. My mechanic said that the only fix there is to replace the whole thing and that I might as well drive the car until the problem starts to progress, which right now it is staying pretty true to what the problem was at the beginning.

My question is whether the squeak is coming from the current problem in the transmission or if it something completely different. I am about to get my oil changed and so I will be told by them a thousand things that I should fix I'm sure, but I am hoping to get experienced opinions from you guys.

Also, if you have questions, I am going to try to check the responses as often as I can. I would also enjoy prospective prices if and when I decide to have the car fixed. Thanks.

well check out junk yards for a cheap used replacement for the trans or triple edge performance if going new

as for the sqeek could be pullies tensioners power steering or a number of simple things

Power steering pump would probably be described as more of a whine. I'd aim for serpentine belt first if I was hearing squeaking on that side. Loose, frayed, cracked, etc.

What about the belt tensioner? Do they suck like the ones on LSx cars/trucks? Just picked up my car tonight, and I think I'll be replacing that in the next couple of days.
