• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Vibration?

I lifted front end and put trans in gear to slowly turn wheels to check for possible wheel bearing issue. I got an immediate dash light for trac control and it felt like both tires/wheels were freaking out. The front end was actually shaking. I had foot on brake and slowly released brake pressure and car did NOT like it. Is this normal front end reaction to wheel spin? Tires are good, balanced, rims are fine, straight, I thnk.

If one tire spins faster than another, traction control will try to straighten it out by means of applying the brakes. So when both wheels are up, naturally they won't spin at exactly the same speed since the resistance in the brakes or bearings will be a little different. Turn trac control off and it shouldn't do it anymore. The system isn't meant for the wheels to be in the air.

The wheel bearings are bad on our impala, they make a woowoowoo noise (gets worse on turns) and makes no noise when spinning by hand, and hardly noticeable play. Sometimes that's the only way to really tell, or just replace both fronts since they go in pairs anyway.
