Vibration in steering wheel

Timing

New member
Pretty much entire car is new
I get a bad vibration in the steering wheel, worse during turning/braking.
Only thing not replaced is struts and steering rack.
If i turn the wheel back and forth while parked there is play in the wheel.
Steering shaft seemed fine when i took it out and i greased it.

So im assuming steering rack. Also car does nto seem to steer as well as when i purchased it so i think the magnasteer isnt working properly if at all.

Out of balance front tires and "warped" brake rotors come to mind.

Most cars there is always a steering gear play inside the rack. Likely less than 1/4th of an inch.

Did the CompG's come with Magnasteer? I thought it was only on the GXP's.

The rotors and tire balance seems likely to me as well. I've also seen misaligned wheels cause vibration while turning or braking, but only once out of all the cars I've done alignments on.

Tires are brand new, balanced and aligned. Doing befor and after. Rotors, calipers, pads, control arms, wheel bearings, sway bar links bushings, motor, trans mounts all new. And yes my car has magnasteer.

rotate your tires, you may have tossed a weight, or bent rim. not all tire balancers are the same, some are better then others. you want a high speed wheel balance done.

or you could have a brand new tires thats egged or something.

Tires have been rotated and are wearing perfect. Also ive had my tires and alignments done at the same place for years, always perfect.

maybe hit an alignment shop and have it test driven and looked over, maybe they can find something. seems like you've done all you can at this point.
