OK I know its been asked, beat me up for not using the search feature lol. I just wondered if ( 97-04 Corvette C5 & Z06 Brake Calipers Set of 4 Delco ) can be placed on our cars with 18" rims. :th_scratchhead:I thought someone said yes in a thread for doing the F1 upgrade.

I may be answering my own questions now ha ha. I found a write up someplace about the GXP brakes placed on our cars. Would give me 13" front and 12" rear. Now that would be sweet.

Yes, for sure, they are just like the F-Body brake calipers, dual piston etc. ...they just cost more cause they say Corvette on them.

I don't have a clue with them because of their size and bolt set up.

I give you this :th_thumbsup-wink::th_thumbsup-wink: if you can get them to work! Them are some serious brakes right there if you ever seen them in person.

If that's the only reason you did it, yeah. But if you're going for the performance it's fine (like I said, I'm just not a fan of the look personally). The C5 calipers give better pedal firmness and feel because of the size of the pistons, and they do bite a lot harder than F-body calipers.
 


the C5 vette calipers have smaller pistons than the f-body calipers. So the pedal feels better. You need to change brake pedal with GXP brakes. I bought a used set of C5 calipers and i plan to mount all 4 of them using 12" rotors on all 4 corners with 16" wheels. Currently i have C5s installed in the front and GXP parts waiting for the rear.

The GXP brakes weigh more than the C5 calipers but you need to get brackets that mount to the 97-03 GP. F-body bracket in the front and ??? in rear. The ??? is for i will tell you when i get it done but it reqiures some modification to get rear c5 mounted the GXP bracket.
