Valve springs and push rods for ER rockers.

I am looking for advice on a set of valve springs for ZZP's ER rockers.
GM's 90lb yellow springs seem common but I am looking for something that wont screw my timing chain and dampener. Any recommendations?

My push rods may also get replaced. Stock length and 5/16". Are Intense lightweights okay? Comp Cams? Any other options?

Are zzp's modified retainers or intense, Manley LS type retainers a good idea? Are new valve locks necessary?

I will also be using Viton valve seals and ZZP's rocker install kit.

Viton Seals, Comp Locks, Crow Cams #105 Springs w/ matching retainers...as for pushrods...pretty sure stock is fine but if you want to upgrade those...then spring for Intense O/R Pushrods in the stock length (Oil restricted).
 
Disagreeing with Blue here. (pretty uncommon)

105# Crowe or LS9/L76 (cost effective :th_laugh-lol3:) would be good for springs
On pushrods, stick with what you have. These are modified stock rockers, they require oil. Plus majority thought these days is that restricting the oil at the rockers isn't as good as it once was thought to be. Roller rocker doesn't mean it needs less oil.
Locks.. reuse the ones you have.
Retainers - pick up LS style retainers (Intense)
Valve seals - (ZZP, much easier to install)
 
Meh...its fine. I was just suggesting what I had done to mine...even though it is a different setup.
 
So 105lb springs are safe for my L36? What are the advantages over 90lb?

Glad to hear stock push rods are fine but I may go with Intense's lightweight stock style IF I have the cash.
Might still get new locks just because I am likely to lose some.

I am also wondering the same thing.. I always thought LS6 Yellow springs were fine for ER rockers.
 


Perfect. Just what I need to know.
So 105's have a higher seat pressure and a lower spring rate.
I do not need timing chain troubles!

Looks like Crow 105's for springs, Intense LS1 type retainers, comp cams locks, viton seals, comp cams reusable rocker bolts, and hopefully some Intense lightweight stock type push rods.

Got my rockers and pedestals. Now to keep saving and scrounging.

If anyone has more advice, feel free to add it.
 
sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I thought L76 springs were better for the timing chain it was the Crow 105's that create timing chain troubles? I'm just asking this because I'm looking to get the ER Rockers.
 
IIRC L76 are just fine with rockers now if you were going with a cam 105 would be a better choice. Not sure if the crow or comp cams had the issues in the past.
