vacuume leak

is it possible that an unplugged IAT sensor would cause a vacuume leak to show up and throw an engine code? for the past day or so my 04 gtp would come up on the dic and say check gas cap... i checked it and even bought a new one thinking the seal on the gas cap was loose. then it threw a code and autozone said it was a vaccuume leak. i tried checkin a few hoses and the only one i seen loose was the one from the iat sensor. it possible i could have missed some hoses however... what do you guys think could be the problem?
thanks for any input

The iat does not have any hoses going to it. An unplugged iat would not set that. When the dic is saying check gas cap it sounds like an evap leak to me.

Nothing before the TB will show as a vacuume leak. I would also second the evap leak. Check the connections going to the evap canister under the hood. Or evap silinoid rather.

i didntthink it would but i figured id ask. thabks for your help guys. the guy from autozone reset it and it hasnt came back on yet and i have drove quite a bit so maybe one was loose and i got it when i was checking. thanks for the help. i appreciate it!
