Vacuum Line Questions....

Primal

So, it looks like I have all my vacuum lines hooked up fine - EXCEPT this one. I can't even remember what should go on it. I sort of remember taking something off it, but I'm not even finding anything that looks like it could plug in to it. What plugs into that top vacuum port?

Also, regarding the lower port and the line on it, that line was dried out and I replaced it with plain 7/32 vacuum line. Is that what that is or is it a factory specific line? One end is bigger than the other - though it appears that the plain line I put on it fits OK. There's a pic of the line I took off below and you can see that it might be a special line as opposed to plain old 7/32.

Thanks again, everyone!

Adam

Thanks a lot, man! I kinda thought that, but I wasn't sure. Is it covered of just open like that????

Anyone else want to confirm or deny?

yup that port is left open. it used to have a foam filter on it. most of use have lost it by now. if you look close you can see some of the foam filter stuck in the clip there.

that other line, take it to the parts store, match it up. ( looks like the one from the top of the sc to the boost solenoid)

Yup.. originally they had a piece of foam over that one. Most of us have found it degraded and falling apart. It's cool to run with it open. As for the hose.. You know how us CT guys roll... get a few pieces. You have a 3800 and you'll end up needing a few pieces of stuff around.

OK, guys, thanks.

Regarding that other line, I have 7/32 on there now. The issue is that it's bigger on the top end and the lower end - below that open port - is smaller. It seems OK with the 7/32 but that size is slightly small for the bottom one.

I guess I'll see what happens when I start it up...

Yes, that port is supposed to be open like that.

Also, for the smaller vacuum lines, get yourself about 5' of 3mm silicone vacuum line, works like a charm for all of the smaller fittings.
