USB Ports

Since everything takes USB now I was thinking about adding like 2-3 USB ports in the car. Maybe 2 in the front (driver/pass) and maybe one in the back. Anyone did this or thought of it? If someone else has done it I would love to see how it turned out.
 


it would not be that hard you just need to get a powered usb hub and take the case off. then put it in the dash somewhere. kind of a neet idea.
 
I do know the Confusingboat was going to do something like this but apparently the usb port that he ordered broke when we was taking it apart IIRC. He was going to take it apart then solder the USB to the cigarette lighter.
 
Ok so im not the only person who has thought of this idea. Im going to do a little more research and see what I can found out. So far it seems easy.
 
yeah, you can buy them that plug into the Cig lighter.

Or just run it off of a switched 12v, to be stealthy, and work it into a panel.
 
get some of the ford usb ports for the new trucks that look like a covered lighter socket, I think some of the new chevy pickups have them too.
