UPS - Killing our sh!t

So yesterday I work a double shift between both jobs, and just as I am getting home and settling down to sleep, I get a text from Classy Pontiac telling me that one of the headlights I had to ship back to him (for some touch up work) was busted in shipping... Ok, I get that, and I know it's not his fault whatsoever, but damn, this fired me up. I mean there is a lot of work in those, let alone money. I get on the UPS website this morning and it is a total cluster trying to file the claim! I call them, and they make no apologies (I get that, never admit fault), and then the snatch on the phone says it's MY responsibility to make sure I remain in contact with the store I shipped from to find out the status of the claim "if they decide they will pay out on it." As if I didn't care about the package, and as if it's not my money in it that's at stake here. So here I am, left with a poor taste for these jackasses, and no further to having resolution than when I started. What really gripes me is that the box looks like Ace Ventura had his way with the box after a weekend long bender and an 8-ball. I mean these people deliver packages for a living. The company logo states they <3 logistics. Obviously thats a crock. If that was the case, my shipment wouldnt look like it had just gone through WWIII, and my headlight wouldn't be broke. Honestly, how hard is it to deliver a package CAREFULLY?! I know I am not the only one this has ever happened to, and I also am aware that stuff happens. Fact of the matter is, this time it happened to me, and I have to deal with it. Fact of the matter is, no matter what the parcel is, you can bet your ass that someone's hard earned money is in that box. Their delivery system obviously is flawed, as well is their claims system. I am not the one that damaged the headlight, and neither is Classy, yet here we are BOTH being inconvenienced as a result of their negligence.

As I told Classy last night, I once witnessed a Ford representative take a baseball bat to a F-150 headlight bucket, and not even scuff it. I mean full on, balls out swinging for the fences, baseball bat. Yet UPS has trashed this one. What did they do, drop it from a 6 story building? How do you break the INTERNAL component of the headlights??

Where in the Hell is the American work ethic anymore? Where is the belief in quality anymore??:th_angry-teeth:

End of rant. Thank you for listening!

< Waits for UPS to deliver my packages today

Seriously that's sucks never had a issue where I had to file a claim. Hopefully you can get it sorted it out.

There's guys that are grateful for the job that they have and take their work seriously then there's guys that hate it but can't or won't do anything about it and unfortunately take it out on everyone else's things.

Apparently you haven't been on the recieving end of a package of leaves or maple tree heliocopters that buddies and I send at odd times. :th_mischievious:

On your headlight I'm sorry. And at the sametime..you kinda sound like an entitlement kid in your rant, thinking that there's never a mistake, issue or failure in the large number of packages/deliveries these companies deliver. Hell if I were running that place..you'd be lucky if you ever got a package...my logistics aren't that good.

The bonus titty twister to it is that they are saying at least a week before I will hear the results of their 'inspection.' Here's a clue: ITS BROKE! It wasn't broke when I shipped to Classy, and I seriously don't think he would break his own handy work, so that kinda limits the factors in the equation.

No, I am far from an entitlement kid, but I do expect when I pay for a service it is done with quality and integrity. ****, I work 2 jobs in public service, have a ***** of a wife, and two kids. I am too poor to be entitled.. LOL!!

Some people care about their work you know!

Seriously though I deal with UPS every day here at work and you will have to do your due diligence to get the package value replaced. You will get have to jump through hoops but that's the way it is. I believe the standard insurance on packages is up to a value of $100.00. I routinely pay extra on shipment's of value because Doug Hefernan and his buddies like to play football with just the right size and weight box.

Sucks that happened, I use USPS cause UPS is a rip off and sucks here.

How far up the management ladder did you go. I would have my foot so far up their ass, my toes would stick out of their mouths...I'm an asshole though. I made a Service writer at a Dodge dealership cry once after pissing me off.

I'm just starting the chain of command with these idiots. Fact of the matter is I get teased because I routinely make people cry on my job. Not because I have pulled them over, or they are trying to get out of a ticket, but because, yes...I too am an asshole.

^^That.

i have had much better luck with USPS versus UPS or fedex.

To each there own I say USPS can get bent I'm missing some certified documents my wife sent 3 day priority mail becase I'm in d.c. and have some very important info in case I end up staying another year I wouldn't trust usps to mail a damn thing!

Fedex ehhh ok never nothing major.
UPS never an issue gives military discount.

Damn that sucks. This is why I always ship with Fedex. Yes they've messed up but they have ALWAYS made it right. I've filed a claim and have had it be done within a week and I got the money for replacement parts. UPS and USPS over time have left a bad taste in my mouth which is why I stick with fedex.

On the headlight they must have forgot the package and accidentally backed over it or something. I've tried smashing lights with a sledge hammer before just for fun and those things do no break easily.

Your a traffic cop in Ohio?

I am. Small sh!t spit town just off lake Erie. Yeah yeah, I hear all the nay sayers and cop haters. lol It's a job. Just about anyone that knows me will vouch that I'm not the stereotypical cop. Most are still in disbelief that I am a cop to begin with.
