I have a daytona 500 edition GP and it came with the Bose sound system and I managed to wire up my HU with a harness and a little splicing but want to eventually put in an aftermarket amp and get rid of the factory one. How would i go about doing that? I still want to keep the Bose speakers that sound pretty good but want to add subs so if anyone could help any information is helpfull thank youuploadfromtaptalk1460954533660.jpg

To get rid of the bose amp you have to rewire all the speakers from the head unit to each speaker.

Just keepit, I did, sounds better if your head unit can control the hpf, if not you'll have to keep the bass setting down and have your amp work harder

Oh really, dang that sucks I appreciate the help. Any info is usefull. Just one more question if i were to rewire the speakers to the HU would the speakers (the stock bose speakers)be safe to run with an aftermarket HU and 2 12" subs with amp? I heard that they run off a 1-2 ohm impedance but not sure. I know there is way to run an amp with 2 ohms but a 1 ohm is foreign to me

They would sound like absolute crap, you'd wanna change then weather you kept the amp or not. I blew everyone of mine within 2 days after installing a pioneer deck, they can't handle real power

Lol okay sounds like a project but most likely gonna go that route then. Thank you sir. You just saved me days worth of frustration and loads of money cause I probably would have gotten impatient and frustrated and probably paid shop for install lol

I have a GXP same systems almost, its a pain. Removed the stock amp. Wired in line out converters for the channels and use my stock nav as a deck. More of a pain but it took me roughly a hour to do. That is because I know where all the bolts and screws are lol

be aware if you add a deck you will not be powering the speakers off the deck. you will always get power fromt eh stock amp.

Unless you run new speaker wires from the new HU or run speaker wires from the HU back to the Factory amp and splice the factory speaker wires to the new wires you ran, effectively bypassing the factory amp using power from the HU.
