type of passlock/ security in a 2004 grand prix?

Ok guys here it goes, I recently got a remote start installed by a reputable dealer that i have had 3 other remote starts put in at. The problem: everything works as it should but when you start the car with the remote start the driver information center says something to the sort of "car starting disabled due to theft system". The installer said there is not much they can do about it but i feel like there should be a way to bypass the security system. This may not seem like a big deal but the problem is that the dic becomes useless while driving because you cannot clear this message off of it. The car is a 2004 grand prix gt2 and the remote start is a compustar 600r i believe. Any help would be appreciated! thank you.

I just got that same message but I don't have a remote start. It has been ungodly cold which I'm hoping is just the problem. I did just receive a Viper remote start for xmas, can't afford to put it in just yet but when I called for a quote the guy told me that in order for them to bypass the theft system it's an interface for $100. I dunno that's all I've got. Keep me posted so I know what to expect. Good Luck.

From what I've learned recently, you have two options. A bypass that sort of generically gets around the security. I believe it's programmed from your key. The other type, is the one that requires a key. I'm totally guessing, but maybe the problem is that it's a programmed type and the car doesn't like it. Maybe a new bypass with a spare key is what you need.

I also have a 2004 GT (maybe a GT2?). Take it with a grain of salt, this info came from BestBuy.
