Two questions

Do these look normal?

Hey look a little dirty, but not too bad. They are AL 103's. I am thinking about going to 104's? Anyone think I need to?

Second question. If the knock sensors are torqued more than 14ft-lbs, will they be more sensitive, or less? Just curious.

The plugs look reasonable.. really clean actually. I'd go 104 at least on that setup.

Too much torque is over sensitive.

that's a good look for plugs. a little browned, but not discolored in a bad way. 104s would most definitely be suited better to your boost level. 103s are probably too cold and you're leaving some heat on the table for spark.

Really it's a game of playing around Tom. Sometimes a 104 will work good and sometimes it's a slightly smaller gap. etc etc. Play with different plugs and see what works best at which gap.

Alrighty, thanks guys. I'll grab some 104's when I get paid Friday and start with a .05 gap and work from there. Right now my 103's are gapped to .05 and I get a P0300 code only when I sit and idle for a while. But I figured a lot of that had to do with the cam

I believe..I only went to 103's when I dropped down to 2.9". Was IC'd etc etc at the time with tons of flow. But that's the only time I 103'd

I think I have a vacuum leak. My vacuum is normally about 14.9 - 16 ish when in park at idle. My engine starts fine but after a few seconds, when the idle drops to normal it starts slightly shaking or almost stuttering. In drive in traffic today I saw about 3.9 - 4.5 vacuum when at a stop light.
Also, I believe those figures are - since I'm obviously not building boost. My torque app reads them in + instead of - =P

Are you sure those are 103's... is that not a "104" I see marked on the plug to the right closest to the hand?

Wow good catch. I must have got a 104 mixed with a 103. I bought 6 103's and when I got this engine put back on the cradle I must have grabbed the pack of 4 103's and then grabbed a single 104 by mistake. I'll re check all my plugs and but all new 104's Friday

And I've already done starter fluid all over all of my vacuum lines 4 times. No change. Sprayed injectors to make sure they are seated right and sealed and no change

Think I may have solved a bit of my vacuum leak. The connection to the throttle body let some starting fluid in and revved a little.

Another thing now, as of yesterday my car started doing this cool thing where as I'm cruising down the road the ABS and traction control lights light up. I shut my car off for a while and then after a few mins they work fine when I turn it back on

Know anyone with a scanner than can scan ABS codes? Maybe you have a broken wire someplace
