we started at ~50mph and i brake-boosted while he started in Drive 2. he honked but since i was brakeboosting i cant hear anything but my exhaust and BOV. so i waited til he went first and he did. he jumped a car length while my car downshifted to 2nd gear. we reminaed that position all the way up to ~125mph wheere i stopped since i dont want the car to shift into 4th plus going any faster is pointless.
earlier b4 our race my brother lined up against his buddy in a nissan 240sx with a SR20DET running 20psi(max boost on that turbo so im guessing stock?). he also has a short shifter and running ~11.5AFR. they went at a 40mph roll where the T/A starting pulling away around 100mph. i got this race on my crappy cellphone and will try to upload it on youtube or some online media that supports flash(my phone runs a *.3a2 file extension and youtube screws up the audio ).
my brother and i will be racing again. he claims inconclusive but i kinda see it as a draw. im tempted to raise the boost to 14.7 since i installed my stattama MBC, but dont wanna destroy my built 3TEP trans(has 1" chain and 300M input shaft plus some). after driving home i tried to retune and can run 20-21* on 13psi with a 10.5afr and barely any knock. all in all i was hoping to pull away from the LS1 but i guess im not there yet
. btw, my brother raced a 05GTO a4 and apparently beat the driver of the gto but i dont recall if it was from a dig or roll.
cliff notes:
ran against 01 T/A with mild mods and he got the jump with a car length from a 50mph roll and stayed that way up to 125mph.
