Tuning for a manual transmission

I have a buddy that recently put a 3800 into his fiero. Using DHP, that tables do I need to change so he can shift above 4K?
He is using a 2002 pcm and bin file.

if he didnt hook any shift logic up, he should be in "D" all the time according to the PCM.

For the most part I dont change anything other than DTC codes for manual swaps. The motor runs alot different due to the different gear ratios so I bounce timing up alot, enable really lean cruise, etc.

if it wont go above 4k then the pcm thinks the car is in neutral. like DH said adjust so that it thinks its in drive, or adjust the tables so the rev limiter is higher in neutral... but not sure if other tables are adjusted if the car thinks its in N. I suggest adjusting the harness so that the Neutral safety switch is properly connected to the pcm so that it sees if the car is in N or D(a gear)
