Tuning/changing shift points

Is there a way to tune or change when the car shifts? Im not talking about wot, but daily. I want the car to just go into gear at lower rpms without having to let off the gas to make it think there's a much less load. Not sure if I'm describing this well but I hear it on other cars, a lancer and golf most recently.
I don't necessarily mean bang hard into gear, just go into gear without lag and without lifting the throttle at lower rpms.
And if so wondering if it can be tuned to do it at certain rpms given a certain throttle percentage. Like going from 2-3 at 1800rpm with under 25% throttle.
On a side note I love the way and points the transmission shifts in my 03 gt, but the gearing must be completely different than my 02 3.4 impala b/c it shifts like crap. Also I get tired of having to downshift going up small hills whereas the gt will accelerate without downshifting.
Any insight on how and if it's possible to change the shift points would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sure you could buy a HPTuners software and mess with or buy a DHP tuner and do it, but to me changing them from where they are already set would make the car drive terrible. We only have 4 gears, Id assume the lancer and golf have a 5 or 6 speed gearbox and allow for those different changes.

Your on the right track I changed my shift points and am totally in love with it my 1-2 is at 19mph instead of 12 Ill post my shift table when I get home however keep in mind when changing this table you need to change your tcc apply speed as well or else youll tourqe converter will kick in way sooner and bog down the car. Most people forget about that step. I'll update later

Can you explain what exactly the torque converter does and how it affects the way it shifts as well as what you can do and how it affects it? Basically the whole concept is I want it to shift at a certain point pretty much no exceptions except under a lot of throttle and also have it not shift down so easily. It drives me crazy

Google what a TQ converter does The paramters shift pressures points tcc duty cycles etc can be found on HPT forums.
here is my stock shift table

very suttle changes but trust me they make the car drive in traffic and regular driving so much better

That table is EXACTLY what I wanna be able to change. So is HPTuners the only one that can do that? And the last I knew they didn't have one for the 3.4 but I don't see why the one for the 3.8 wouldn't work.
Are the numbers in the table mph? And also, do you just change each mph?

not sure about your platform but you can always shoot them a email yes the tables are in MPH and yes i use HP tuners.
i just multiplied the whole table by 1.3mph IIRC and left down shifts alone for now i have a v8 my power band is a little diffrent lol

I noticed the shift points are WAY off compared to my stock lol. For example, I can get it to go 3-4 at 41mph and 2-3 wot is like 90. I definately gotta look into hp tuners because at this point I'm a little confused how it works. I never thought you'd have to have credits or something to use. Seems kinda silly after paying all that money for it in the first place
